| With rain forecast for late afternoon the planned two cycles of qualifying were cut to one. In American Super Stock Rd3, Cheryl Swift topped the qualifying list. Come the final round it was Ashley Rawson facing that man again, Dan Houlston. Dan's second final of the year but Ashley pipped him at the line and took the trophy and prize money!
The Shogun was out in force in Pro ET again as Pel Norman got to the finals again and ran just 0.02 off his dial in but Des Taylor had a much better reaction time and took the win! Des did this after beating Al Platt in the Sportsman ET Rd2 final too, all without any water in the engine! In Air Cooled Rd3, Richard Johnson was the one to catch (literally...) in his 21 second Beetle. Everyone he faced failed except Steve 'haircut' Purdon in the final who took his first trophy. Heads up racing in HR Challenge Rd2 saw the debut of Adam Cuthberts Jago Jeep with Chevy power, running a 10.75/126mph in the final to beat Chris Rounds 11.64/114mph in his Chevy powered Pop. NSCC was won again by Andy Hadfield. Also, Julian Webb fired his Jet dragster over the full quarter mile posting two 6.9 second runs! |
